The Parish Of Caverswall

The Estates of Mary Coyney 1772

When Edward Coyney died in 1772 he was survived by his wife and his only child Mary. In his will Edward placed his estates in trust for his daughter. The following is a list of the tenants and the rent charges that were levied in 1772. The parish of Caverswall was divided into two separate manors. The manor of Caverswall and the manor of Weston Coyney which included Hulme and Werrington. It seems likely that most of the estates that appear on this list were located in the manor of Weston Coyney.
