Comments: Congratulations on a very informative site... I would be interested to know if anyone else is researching the JOLLIFFE/JOLLYE family with connections to Caverswall Castle ? John JOLLYE of Leek b. 1534, wool merchant, was my 11 x great grandfather and I have information back to the early 16th century but there are many gaps to be filled... pleased to exchange details.

Comments: You amaze me! your site is even better.
I have not visited for a while, and spent the last few hours going through all the new info seeking more on the Tomlinson family. Sadly not found any more other than a Jane Tomlinson of Meir Lane rate payer of whom l have no connection yet! she maybe mine but will keep it on file anyway. looking for any Tomlinson info no matter how small. my 6grt grandfather Thomas Tomlinson wife hannah their marriage l have yet to find... parents 7grt John Tomlinson and Ann Bolton are found in Caverswall in 1708 when their marriage took place it states that 7grt John (Thomas’s Father) was from Leigh and have found his birth in leigh, staffs his father John 8grt also found born in leigh. his father another John (too many.. confusing) found about 1652 in Dilhorne. the later two only speculation at the moment but an on going project. thank you for all the info you do put on this site, its a pleasure going through all these facts and figures as it gives an insite to what it was realy like in Caverswall when my family lived there.

Comments: A message for Dave Berrisford re Foxholes Farm. I've just started to research my family tree and found that I am a great grandchild of James Berrisford. I'm intrigued by Foxholes (or Foxearth?) as I hadn't realised it was a farm or that it was owned by the family. My Dad (Samuel Joseph Jackson born 1896, son of Clara Louisa Jackson nee Berrisford born 1874) was never very communicative about his family. Any information would be much appreciated! (I've tried to register with the forum to reply to Dave Berrisford's post directly but had no success, so if anyone could alert him to this I'd be very pleased)
Admin reply: Hi,
I have made a posting in the Forum for you. Hopefully Dave will contact you by e-mail shortly. I will send you the details of how you can join the Forum.

Steve

Comments: Fantastic site, I wish more Parishes would set up something as good as this, it would make the lives of us part time family historians much easier.
I'm trying to find a wedding record for around 1817 to 1821 between a George Robinson and a Sabra or Saborah of this Parish. I'm interested to find out what Saborah's maiden name was, can anybody help?
David

Comments: I am researching my WHITEHOUSE ancestry. I believe the descendants of my 2xgt grandmother's brother, William Whitehouse lived in Caverswall. He and his sons Hugh and William were bricklayers of Longton and Caverswall. William m Hannah Hopley in 1851, Hugh m Sarah Ann Amison 1879, and William jr m sarah Myatt in 1893, and I believe may have died at "The Old Blue Inn" Longton in 1923. I would like to understand the family, as I believe they were travellers originally.
