Comments: Recently introduced to this enjoyable site and would like to contribute some of my research results. Having spent ten years tracing my wife's HAWKINS family from 1702 over 10 generations, there are now over 250 members of the family and their spouses in my collection.Parish registers, covering baptisms, marriages and burials, GRO indexes of B.M & D ,Censuses from 1841-1911 have been the main sources.
Comments: My great grandparents Francis Henry CARNELL (a bricklayer) and his wife Harriet (formally TILL) were living at `Recreation Ground, The Mear, Caverswall' when they had my grandfather William on 16/11/1886. (I have a copy of his birth certificate) I have very little knowledge of either them or their background. I would be very interested if anyone could help me research their life etc. Did they have any other family, either more children or their parentage. I do know that they moved to Edmonton, North London around about 1900 and that William followed in his father's footsteps and became a bricklayer.
Any information would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Vince

Comments: Hi, great site! Found this site by accident researching Consall and surrounding area. I am researching my family history and one 4xggrandfather was a Joseph Allen who I believe came from Ipstones but his daughter Sabarah was born in Caverswall? or Cheddleton. Following research on the Allen family I was give details of Joseph Allen working at Rangemoor Lodge?? or Rangemoor Farm. I would much appreciate any information you have. I have found an article relating to the 'Consall Plateway' which mentions a Rangemoor Farm and Lime Wharf Bank on the road from Cellarhead to Cheadle but where?? Fingers crossed
Admin reply: Hi Andrea,
