A lovely collection of postcard scenes from the local area.
Some of the postcards have actually been used and I have included the names and addresses where possible.
2 Weston Coyney c1940
In this view of the crossroads we have moved forward to 1940. Utility poles carrying electricity and telephone cables can be seen along the road side. White bands have been painted on the bottom of the poles to make them more visable during the wartime blackouts. The building on the far left hand side of the crossroads was a Post Office. Mr Sproston's shop is just out of shot on the right but there is a partial view of of a petrol pump on the forecourt.
