5. Weston Coyney Hall : c1900
Weston Coyney Hall stood a short distance to the rear of where Weston Coyney Village Hall stands today. This is a view of the southern elevation that faced Caverswall village. At the bottom of the image there is a glimpse of a stone wall known as a Ha-ha. The purpose was to create a phyical barrier without spoiling the view, rather like an infinity swimming pool that we might see today. The photograph was taken by William Blake who owned a shop in Longton.
