An opportunity to see a part of Ken’s large collection.
Sprostons Corner 3 c1935
Weston Coyney : This image provides a good view of Chris Sprostons shop. In addition to groceries and newspapers he also supplied petrol and oil for the very small number of motorists that existed in those days. To the right of the shop there is a partial view of Ensbury House. In 1939 Chris and Ethels son paid the ultimate sacrifice when he was killed whilst serving with the RAF in 144 Squadron. Percy Edmund Boyce Sproston was laid to rest at The Sage War Cemetery Niedersachsen in Germany. This photograph appears to have been taken at a slightly later date than the previous two.
