8 Caverswall : The mound near to Cookshill c1950
According to a popular local legend the mound is a burial site dating back to the English Civil War. Either Roundheads or Cavaliers are buried there depending on which version of the story you hear. However there are no records of a battle taking place at Caverswall. The mundane explanation is that the mound is spoil left over from excavation works in the fields, possibly connected with the operation of the water mill at Cookshill. https://w3w.co/legend.liked.spared
