Comments: Your site bought back many memories! I attended St Peters School from 1955 to 1959 when Dad got a job in Taunton. The Headmaster was Mr Ricketts and my infant teacher was Miss Leyland, there was also another teacher there called Mrs Westwood (I think!). I remember Beverley Davies, she left with her family to emigrate to Canada. Trevor Shenton, Gareth, June, Jane, sorry I can't remember you surnames. My aunt, Mollie Leese kept the shop opposite the school...always handy for those rationed sweets!

Comments: Hello I am tracing my family tree and I was wondering if anyone has any info on the Dennis family. They were in Caverswall from around 1840 to 1900. For example, Henry and John Dennis. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Paul

Comments: Rearching the Piper family, registered in the parish of Caverswall, would love to find out where Ford Street, East Vale, & Lane End exact location. I know that it is now incorporated into Longton. The Piper family were all registered at Dilhorne. My GF was Alfred Piper born in 1875, and I think there were about 10 children, 2 of which I beleive died in childhood. My GM was Sarah Ann Kaill, registered in Trentham, they were married at Lane End St. John's my GGF was born Alfred Piper in 1835 my GGM was Rachel Blurton born in 1837 they both died in the 1880's. I lived in Forsbrook for 22 years without any of this knowledge and think that I haven't really moved very far. Any other descendants from the Pipers,Kaills, Blurtons It would be good to hear from. I know that several Kaills emigrated to Canada and USA early last century

Comments: I am tracing back my mothers family line(James) from Cheadle and I have come across an Ezra Austin, a Coalminer from Hulme Lane in the parish of Caverswall. Although he was born in Ipstones in 1848 his ancestry just stops. I wonder if any of your fine folk recall him or his relatives. Regards Steve.

Comments: I'm looking for Walklate family history : my mother is a Walklate. I see that in White's directory of Staffs, Adderley House in 1851 is shown as the residence of Mrs. Walklate, but no other family members seem to appear in any of the other documents. Fascinating website though!
